Meadowcreek Bass Club
FISH - N - KIDS

September 26th, 2009

On Sept. 26th 2009 the Meadowcreek Bass Club held its Annual Fish n' Kidz outing for local and family kids to have a day of fishing and fun! We had around 30 attendees. We met at Bethesda Community Park in Lawrenceville, GA and started fishing for any type of fish that would bite our baits.. The kids were all excited to see if they would be able to catch fish using techniques showed them.

Many of the kids who attended had never been fishing before. We also had some young fisherman who had been fishing, but had never caught a fish before, and today we hoped that would change. Our first fish caught was a small bass that you would have thought was a 10lb bass by the way the kids were acting. Many of us were thrilled to see these young fisherman catch their first fish and took pictures to show their friends and families.

The club provided hotdogs and hamburgers for the attendees and there were only three hamburger patties not eaten. The day went real well even though we had 20 inches of rain over the past ten days with the prospect of another one to three inches this day. We were very fortunate that the rain held off so that we could get the event completed.
We hope that this outing provided the incentive for these young people to become the fisherman of the future. If the young people who attended this outing are any indication of the future of fishing, the fish had best watch out.

After the event our participants and club members picked up trash and cleaned the area for future groups to use the facilities. We hope that other users of the park will leave it cleaner than when they arrived!
