FISH - N - KIDZS
June 12th, 2010
On June 12th, 2010 the Meadowcreek Bass Club, in conjunction with Gwinnett County Parks, held its Annual Fish n' Kidz at Little Mulberry Park in Dacula, GA. The day was for local kids and their families to enjoy fishing and fun! We had over 30 young fishermen with their parents attending. We were fishing for any type of fish that would bite our baits.. The kids were all excited to see if they would be able to catch fish big fish, little fish and the most fish for prizes and fun using techniques showed to them.
Many of the kids who attended had never been fishing before. We also had some young fisherman who had been fishing, but had never caught a fish before, and today we hoped that would change. Our big fish caught was a bass that was about 11 inches long and you would have thought it was a 10lb bass by the way the kids were acting. A lot of fish were caught and even a few turtles were hooked.
Hotdogs and brats were provided for the attendees. The day went real well even with the prospect of rain in the air. It was in the 90s and was very humid. We hope that this outing provided the incentive for these young people to become the fisherman of the future. If the young people who attended this outing are any indication of the future of fishing, it looks like the sport of fishing will live on for a long time!
